Town of Chatham & Harwich Notice

Beginning on May 1st, and until further notice, all non-essential outdoor water use shall be restricted to no more than two days per week. Watering by sprinkler or irrigation is allowed on customer assigned days only before 9:00 AM and after 5:00 PM.

• *CHATHAM* - Odd numbered addresses are assigned Tuesday’s and/or Thursday’s 

• *CHATHAM* - Even numbered addresses are assigned Wednesday’s and/or Friday’s 

• *HARWICH* - Odd numbered address are assigned to Tuesday's and/or Saturday's 

• *HARWICH* - Even numbered address are assigned to Wednesday's and/or Sunday's 

As a reminder, non-essential uses include:

• Irrigation of lawns via sprinklers or automatic irrigation systems

• Washing of vehicles, except in a commercial car wash or as necessary for operator safety

• Washing of exterior building surfaces, parking lots, driveways, or sidewalks (except as necessary to apply surface treatments such as paint, preservatives, stucco, pavement, or concrete).

Households and businesses that draw water from private wells are exempt from these restrictions; however, the Town encourages their participation given their impact on our shared aquifer.
